What ever became of the class of  1947?

Ezra Vogel is Henry Ford II Professor of the Social Sciences at Harvard.  After graduating from Ohio Wesleyan in 1950 and serving two years in the Army, he studied sociology  at Harvard, receiving his Ph.D. in 1958.  He studied language and conducted research interviews in Japan for two years.  In 1960-61, he was assistant professor at Yale University and then studied Chinese language and history at Harvard.  He became director of Harvard's East Asian Research Center in 1972 for 5 years and again in 1996.  He took a two-year leave in 1993 to serve as the National Intelligence Officer for East Asia at the National Intelligence Council in Washington. He has written many books on Japan and China and has lectured frequently in Asia in both Chinese and Japanese.

Thomas L. (Tiny) Gilliland has resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for the last 27+ years - after a 23-year career in the Air Force.
