Remember This?

Back

The building that housed Whitlinger's Meat Market, which later became Jones' Meat Market, is still on the corner of North Sandusky and Central Avenue, across from the Court House.  I'm sorry this picture was not taken to show the corner, but to show the phone company building and the Central Avenue hill.

Ah, yes.  The hill was always a bane to 16-year olds with a learner's permit and a car with a clutch who were unlucky enough to get a red light. Doesn't look so steep from this angle.

And remember Humphrey's auto dealership at the bottom of the hill on the right, at the corner of Union and Central?

Remembering . . . . . .

Did you take dance lessons?  Her studio was located in several places during the time I took tap and ballet lessons.  One year it was even upstairs on Sandusky Street over some stores.  You were already warmed up by the time you made it up the stairs to the studio!

Just about everybody had a pair of Buster Brown's or Spalding Saddle Shoes from Bob Burns.

And a sweater from Wilson's, of course!
